I always say I don’t believe in luck, but I’ll start here by saying “lucky me”. To know Blue Mitchell as my friend and peer has been a real joy of my creative life, so when he asked me to ride sidecar in curating a Diffusion show for Michael Pannier’s Southeast Center for Photography…ummm YES!

Culling the works from the drop-dead-gorgeous Diffusion IX was an inspiring and provocative “job” for which I am grateful and honored to have been asked. The exhibiting artists have made not just good art but brave art and nothing charges me up more.

Thank you, Blue. Thank you, Michael. And most especially, to the gutsy makers…thank you. Nailed it.
